Celadon Janggu (Hourglass Drum): Inlaid Cloud-and-Crane Motif

This work belongs to those who understand inheritance not as repetition, but as the patient re-forming of knowledge through another material. "The drum waits in silence, while its celadon chambers already seem to hold the memory of sound." Kwon Ohak’s Korean celadon janggu occupies an unusual position between ceramic sculpture and performing instrument. Its hourglass body recalls one of Korea’s most recognisable percussion forms, yet the familiar wooden chamber has been replaced by fired clay. This substitution alters every stage of the work: how the body must be formed, how it survives the kiln, how its components are joined, and ultimately how sound is gathered and released. The composition begins with opposition. Two swelling chambers face one another across a narrow central waist, each volume held in balance by the tension of the cords that cross the body. The janggu is therefore understood not as a single mass, but as a relationship between paired forms. Expansion is answered by contraction; the openness of the drumheads is answered by the compressed middle; the visual softness of the glaze is held against the mechanical discipline of the bindings. This structure is especially

PANKALANGU CREDENZA

A creature that only becomes visible in the rain. Pankalangu Credenza takes its form from a Western Arrernte story of a territorial being that lives camouflaged in the scrub, moving only with rain, its shape revealed when falling water catches the light across its body. Trent Jansen developed the piece over sustained conversations with Western Arrernte custodian Baden Williams in Hermannsburg, working in consultation with local elders before translating the story into furniture. Transform Your Space with the Pankalangu Credenza Hundreds of individually shaped bent plywood scales cover the credenza's curved walnut body, each one catching light along a thin copper edge. From a distance the surface reads as camouflage, its pattern folding into the timber grain; only as light moves across it does the glistening silhouette described in the original story emerge. Available in a number of timber species, please inquire for details. Materials: Lamination bent plywood, Queensland walnut and copper. Speaker Chair V.II

The Speaker Chair V02 explores the intersection of furniture, sound, and unfinished architectural material. Constructed from yellow birch formwork plywood, the chair deliberately retains the character of its industrial material. Visible knots, grain variations, and surface markings are treated as integral elements of the design rather than concealed imperfections. The result is an object that feels raw, utilitarian, and architectural, with its bold yellow surface giving the substantial form an unexpected visual intensity. Five working speaker drivers are integrated directly into the chair body, creating a seamless relationship between the furniture and its audio function. AUX and Bluetooth connectivity allow the chair to operate as a contemporary sound system while maintaining the visual language of an unfinished construction object. A Cross-Border Collaboration The chair is the product of a collaboration developed entirely at a distance: Studio S.B, led by designer Simon Barazin in Tel Aviv, defined form and proportion; 22F, the Kyiv studio founded by Bogdan Kryvosheya, engineered and built the piece. Both practices share a visual inheritance rooted in socialist-era and post-Sovie
