Winged IXX 2026 Sculpture

In Winged, cantilevered slabs extend outward from the concealed cavity — some reach the ground and become legs, others stay lifted, caught between falling and flight. Hand-coiled clay vessel extended by cantilevered slabs — some reaching the ground to form leg-like supports, others held aloft, caught between grounded and airborne. Each piece is built from a single hollow cavity, then shaped by weight and gesture rather than by a fixed plan, so no two pieces resolve the same way. Fired to a dark, metallic surface, the works read as sculptural objects first and vessels second — structural, upright, with a strong sense of movement even at rest. Suited to freestanding display: a plinth, a console, or a considered floor position where the piece's negative space and silhouette can be seen in the round.
