Designed, prototyped, and refined by Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer over the span of months, the Lunet is marked by several signature details: The small vessel housing the oil at the lantern’s center is not a perfect sphere, but instead a refined, meticulously proportioned bulb, inspired in shape by ancient Greek amphora vases and carefully calibrated to maximally amplify the light from a burning wick.
