Rat Race #5
A study in time, repetition and the machinery of everyday life. Part of our Rat Race series, this one-of-a-kind piece places a rearticulated rat skeleton inside a vintage red clock, transforming an ordinary object into a meditation on the relentless passage of time. The rat race is the familiar cycle: work, consume, repeat. We move through systems built around schedules, deadlines and productivity, often becoming little more than another cog in the machine. Here, the clock becomes the machine itself. The rat is caught within it — surrounded by the mechanisms of time, unable to escape the cycle it was built to run. A vintage object is given a second life as a frame for something that speaks to mortality, routine and the strange machinery of being alive. The Details That Matter 100mm by 120mm Vintage clock frame.
