
Alar Side Table
The top of this rustic side table is a thick slab of solid figured honeylocust wood supported by four graceful-but-sturdy, lathe-turned honeylocust legs. The top has been trimmed to an asymmetrical freeform shape, tapered toward the edge, and hand-shaped to a smooth, rounded profile. Small natural cracks in the top have been glued, and two open cracks have been secured with contrasting bubinga bow ties. Tenon s at the top of the legs pierce through the top and are glued and fastened with bubinga wedges. Finished with hand applied polyurethane.
