Sawdust-Fired Vase 56

This one-of-a-kind wheel-thrown and coil-built vessel was built with terra sigilatta. Individually fired using discarded sawdust from local furniture makes in Vancouver, British Columbia. This vase highlights the unique patterns and textures imprinted by burning different woods into the clay; the result is a both a contemporary and rustic aesthetic. The vase is made from white stoneware and weighs 6.5 pounds. 13.5" (h) x 9" (d)
