Large Totem Sculpture

For this totem sculpture, hardwood embers are placed on cherry wood and left to burn the depression into the wood. The piece is scraped and the process is repeated. Then, the whole piece goes back into the fire. The heat and flames dictate the final shape. Pieces are finished with dry-food safe oils and waxes. Tray has a small solid brass of half-sphere accent. Made from various types of wood; can be either a wall hanging or leading totem. 84" (l) x 11" (d)
