Graphite Stellated Sphere

This hand-built and slab -formed self-standing sculpture is part of a geometric series of porcelain constructions based on the icosahedron (20-sided) shape. This particular piece is roughly 12 inches in diameter; it is hollow and weighs approximately 7 lbs. It owes its shimmering grey silvery surface to saggar -firing, and it's finished with wax buffing to seal in colors.
