Fronteira Lamp

The Fronteira ceramic table lamp embodies the concept of transitions and boundaries- a meeting point between the organic and the industrial, the raw and the refined, the natural and the constructed, the juxtaposition between light and shadow. The lamp's design explores the interplay of textures, materials, and forms; this all comes together to represent the nuanced relationship between nature and human interventions. In Portuguese, the name "Fronteira" means border; the artist sought to emphasize this idea visually via the lamp's form. The textured ceramic base transitions from dark tones to light tones- this highlights the tension and harmony at their "borders." Made from stoneware, glaze, brass, glass, and electric components.
