Cast Bronze Table - KABIKI Limited Edition
The KABIKI Table by Daniel Couttolenc is a limited edition cast bronze table — one of only 15 in existence — proportioned from the vesica piscis and cast using the lost-wax method. At 30 × 30 × 33 cm, it is a small object of exceptional presence. The polished finish bends light across its surfaces in a way that changes moment to moment: a piece that looks different in the morning than it does by evening, in candlelight than in daylight. KABIKI is drawn from the vesica piscis — the almond-shaped figure formed at the intersection of two circles of equal radius, where each circle's centre lies on the circumference of the other. An ancient symbol of feminine energy and the potential to bring something new into being, it becomes in KABIKI the generative module from which all proportions derive. Cast in Mexico using the lost-wax method, each bronze piece is one of only fifteen in existence. Bronze holds temperature differently to wood; it carries a physical weight and a presence that is less
