Circus on the Green
A dynamic spectacle of motion, rhythm, and bold color: Circus on the Green is a striking creation from the JeanElton portfolio, expertly crafted within the TallVase Collection. Its asymmetrical form and lively surface design create an unmistakable sense of movement, as if the very essence of a vibrant performance has been captured in ceramic. Bands of bold red and black encircle the piece, framing a kaleidoscope of geometric shapes, playful patterns, and dynamic color contrasts that evoke the high-energy excitement of a grand carnival. The glossy exterior enhances the hand-painted detailing, allowing each vibrant hue to stand boldly against the rhythmic structure of intersecting lines and shapes. The glossy black interior provides a dramatic contrast, deepening the visual impact and creating a sense of depth within the form. The interplay of structure and spontaneity imbues the piece with an undeniable theatricality, making it a true statement work. The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity. This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its unique serial number.
