Bone and Butterfly Mandala
A Jungle Queen butterfly takes centre stage in this one-of-a-kind clock frame, its wings spread in quiet grandeur. Emerging from the butterfly's head is a radiant mandala of snake bones, creating the illusion of a crown, halo, or burst of energy flowing outward through the composition. The contrast between the delicate butterfly and the structured geometry of the bones creates a sense of balance between fragility and strength, life and death, chaos and order. Housed within a reclaimed clock case, the piece invites close inspection, revealing the intricate details and natural patterns hidden within each element. Combining ethically sourced natural specimens with a salvaged vintage object, this artwork transforms discarded materials into a surreal and captivating display that blurs the line between natural history, folklore, and fine art.
