Big Blue Baby
The faces and objects portrayed in Jeanine Pennell's one-of-a-kind work convey vulnerability and a sense of their own personal history. Each is based on a drawing from Pennell's sketchbook and is fabricated from kiln-fired, stoneware paperclay , then hand-painted in underglaze washes and fired multiple times to create a gritty, illustrative quality. This work is hollow-built, making it lighter weight than a typical stoneware sculpture. Matte finish Ceramic: fired at cone 6 One-of-a-kind piece Signed by the artist Materials: Stoneware
